Yesterday, we went to a scholarship banquet because Dillon got a scholarship from his college. We actually met the donor–or rather, the widow of the guy that his scholarship is named after. She was 99 years old, and she looked great.

They all read a small blurb about the scholarship recipient, and most of the time they said who was accompanying the recipient. They said, “Dillon is accompanied by his wife, Heather,” which was quiet normal, but then the announcer continued by saying, “Who Dillon says is beautiful and wonderful and supports him in all his academic pursuits.” It made me blush (elegantly, thank goodness), and laugh, and feel very loved.

I am very proud of my husband, who has a summer job now, and is getting involved in a research project with wood ducks, and who may even pass his statistics class. He is doing great things.
