Playing in the desert

045 052 054 058 067 069 101 103 120There is this area that fills up with water just outside my house when it rains. It hasn’t rained for a while, and so we went exploring the cracked ground. There’s a little green starting to peep through–new growth on the prickly plants; some grass shooting up underneath the dead growth. Overall, though, I miss green. And flowers. And blossoms.

  1. Too bad you didn’t get your father and brother’s love of all things desert. I go back to Emery County and wonder how I ever managed to live in the barren. We did have some trees and lawn though, so I’m sure that helped.
