My dad is a wonderful dad and grandpa. My kids love playing with him and seeing with him and Grandpa Ray loves playing with his grandchildren. When I was growing up, my dad would always take time with us when we needed, even if we just wanted to talk for a minute. I remember so many one-on-one conversations with him, and he usually was listening, even if he was so tired he couldn’t keep his eyes open. (Also, I have realized I need to take more pictures of my dad when I am see him because I have nothing recent.)
When I married my husband, he always wanted to be actively involved in his kids’ life. And he is. His job can get busy, but he’s still home and present quite a bit. And he takes time to do things like go to dance recitals. He changes diapers frequently, always takes the trash out, and sometimes he’ll even clean a toilet. He let BB jump on him. He tickles SR. And he goes on bike rides with MM. He recently did a program with his work and his got to go with it. He taught people about birds. The kids loved it. I felt very proud of my husband: he’s good at his job, a good father, and a good husband.
Happy Father’s Day.
